Donations come in many sizes:-

for example......

$10 will make a difference to their lives
$15 will buy canned or dried foods
$25 will buy fresh vegetables or fish or meat
$25 pays for fuel for the mini-bus to enable the
      children to take part in various events
$40 will almost buy a sack of rice
$40 feeds a child for a month
$40 provides basic clothing
$50 provides scholastic supplies (paper, pencils,
      books etc.) for a year
$50 will buy balls for recreational pursuits
$100 will buy shoes for 6 children
$250 will contribute towards the house parents salary
$500 can be used for structural maintenance costs
$1000 will contribute to their college education
